Café Mora

A neighbourhood café that needed a brand as warm and considered as their single-origin pour-overs. Identity, web, and in-store experience — unified.

The Brief

Café Mora opened in a converted 1960s pharmacy space in the heart of Banjara Hills. Their coffee programme was exceptional — single-origin beans, meticulous extraction, baristas who knew their craft. But their brand looked like every other café that had discovered Instagram.

They needed an identity that felt as considered as the work behind the counter. Something that could live on a paper cup, a menu board, a website, and a ceramic tile wall without ever feeling forced. A brand that aged well.

The brief: warm, restrained, rooted. No trendy typefaces. No gradient logos. Something worth returning to.

Identity System

A palette pulled from the roast.

The colour system draws directly from the coffee process — pale parchment, green bean, light roast, dark espresso. Each shade earns its name. Typography is set in a single serif with weight used sparingly, never for decoration.

Coffee beans identity

Web Design

The menu is the experience.

The website is built around the act of choosing — slow, deliberate, without distraction. Each coffee has a tasting note, an origin story, and a preparation method. No upsells. No popups. A digital space as considered as the physical one.

Outcomes

What actually changed.

01

Brand Recognition

A consistent identity across every touchpoint — from the paper bag to the email receipt. Customers began recognising Mora before reading the name.

02

Digital Footfall

The website doubled as a discovery tool. Online reservations increased significantly in the first month after launch, driven purely by organic reach.

03

Brand Confidence

The team stopped apologising for not having a slick brand. The identity gave them the confidence to charge for the quality they were already delivering.
